On Wednesday June 21, 2017 CEO Roberto S. Juarez was honored with the California State Assembly, 2017 Veteran of the Year Award for the 44th District by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin at the State Capitol Building in Sacramento.  The 10th Annual Veterans Recognition Luncheon was hosted by several major veteran service organizations: The American Legion-Department of California, AMVETS-Department of California, the California Association of County Veterans Service Officers, Veterans of Foreign Wars-Department of California, and the Vietnam Veterans of America-California State Council.  In addition to the recognition on the Assembly floor, a ceremonial lunch was hosted in their honor along with an outdoor tour of the Veteran’s Memorials.

The following is an excerpt of Mr. Juarez’ Bio from the event brochure.

Roberto S. Juarez served in the US Army from 1966-1970. During this time, he fought in the Vietnam War, where he was injured in a rock powered grenade attack. Roberto also served in Texas, Kentucky and Germany.

He was trained in infantry and armored tactics, as well as intelligence on the Patriot Missile System. For his service, Roberto was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, European Campaign Ribbon and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Since his years in Service, he has been an active participant in the community. He is a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 741, Latino Peace Officers Association, and was a founder of the El Concilio del Condado de Ventura and the Ventura Community Foundation. Roberto also has chaired the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Advisory Committee and the Rural Health Advisory Committee.
